Magpul Modifications for AR-15 Bushmaster

Who doesn’t love a good Magpul conversion? Whether a weight or performance issue, people have swapped in Magpul parts throughout the years. Recently, one gun owner shared his recent upgrades to his “Frankenstein” rifle. He said that the military grade forearm and butt-stock decreased its overall weight by a couple of pounds. A few pounds can make a big difference if you have to lug your rifle around for any extended period of time.

If you have a firearm that you love, you most likely have made a few modifications to it over the years. While in the beginning it was a standard AR-15 Bushmaster XM15 E2S, it has been lovingly renovated, piece-by-piece.

The forearm and foregrip were replaced with Magpul mil-spec pieces. The owner shared that he thought the material was solid without being too heavy. The foregrip is angled and ergonomic.

He also switched out the butt-stock with another mil-spec piece. He explained that he had broken the latch on his old stock and had been meaning to replace it for a few years. Judging by his positive reaction to the pieces, the gun may soon boast more Magpul.

Along with the more recent additions, he has made a number of modifications to the weapon including incorporating the M4 upper. We all know of the pull of the carbine. In fact, the gun owner explained that the recent  mod had made the feel of the rifle much more “carbine.”

Did we mention the Tri Power scope? Well here’s what it looks like mounted. If you have one of these bad boys on your side, your shot should be pretty clear. It has three light sources: Integrated Fiber Optics System, Tritium-Illuminated reticle and battery backup.

Have you ever modified your firearms? What did you replace/swap out?
